If you are a history buff or traveling with children, you might want to check out the Mark Twain House in Hartford, which is the Victorian mansion that served as Twain's home for 17 years. Built in 1871, this Victorian cottage was once the home of Stowe, who is best known for her book Uncle Tom's Cabin. For the more adventuresome, there are two major amusement parks in Connecticut--Quassy Amusement Park and Lake Compounce.
