Property Description

Distinct from the majority of Banff hotels, Buffalo Mountain Lodge is situated on Tunnel Mountain ? formerly called Sleeping Buffalo by native peoples living in the region. The Lodge is a true Authentic Canadian Rocky Mountain Lodge. The Rocky Mountains have long been an area of great significance to our indigenous peoples. The valleys were places of ceremony and celebration. The lakes and mineral springs offered rejuvenation for mind, body and spirit. Simple, elegant design is a hallmark of the resort ? symbolizing the lifestyle at the lodge. Banff is renowned the world over for its spectacular scenery, soothing hot springs and pure mountain air. It was here in 1885 that the Canadian government created Canadas first national park. Our main lodge complements its natural setting with square timber, post and beam construction and high open ceilings. Our decor pays tribute to old-world craftsmanship with custom-made cherry, pine and bent-willow furnishings and copper and glass light fixtures. The lodge features 108 Guest Rooms, all with wood burning fireplaces. Buffalo Mountain Lodge provides a nice quiet location, while still being close to all the attractions and restaurants in Banff.
