As you turn in to Indian Springs palm tree-lined drive, youre entering a truly historic spa resort. Situated in Calistoga at the northern end of the Napa Valley, Indian Springs Resort and Spa is Californias oldest continuously operating pool and spa facility. Situated on 16 beautiful acres planted with olive and palm trees, roses and lavender, the property is blessed with four thermal geysers that produce an extraordinary supply of rich mineral water. Another prized asset is the vast, natural deposit of pure volcanic ash on our acreage. These unique elements have long inspired a tradition of healing and renewal on this very site. For centuries, people have gravitated to this land and recognized its restorative powers. The Wapoo Indians settled here 8,000 years ago, bathing in the warm waters. The Spanish followed, naming the grounds ?Agua Caliente.? Notable Californian Sam Brannan was an early promoter of the area and, in 1861, created the original spa, mudbaths, and water plunge (now our Olympic-sized mineral pool) on this property.
