The Old Mill Inn sits directly on the Mill River in Hatfield and guests can relax to the sound of the rushing river and our own waterfall. Originally built as a grist mill in 1870 the Mill has seen many transformations from gun machining shop to office building to its most recent incarnation in 2006 as a luxury bed and breakfast. For those of you who are looking for a private retreat romantic getaway or a one-of-a-kind place to hold a meeting or event the Old Mill Inn offers it all. In addition to our nine rooms with private baths we offer a long-term stay apartment perfect for academics or those seeking accommodation while house-hunting in the area. Our rooms are tastefully appointed with antiques reflecting the style of the Victorian era through the early 20th century. The open beam construction is reminiscent of loft-style apartments and New England barn conversions and each room is unique. We offer luxury European-style linens personal coffee makers in each room HDTV and WiFi access and an upscale amenity package in each of our modern bathrooms. Your first impression will be that of a warm and welcoming country house as you drive up to the Mill. If you arrive in the fall you will enjoy the beautiful colors of the foliage on the trees surrounding our property. As you step out you will realize how close you are to the Mill River rushing by and you cannot miss the view of the falls from our front deck. Be sure to check out our custom designed frog pond by the front entrance. Spring through Fall at any one time you will likely see several frogs sunning themselves on the rocks.
